Continuing on westwards from Matalascañas Beach we come to twenty kilometres of coastline which isn't built up: a spacious and surprising, almost
virgin, country beach, which one can only get onto at certain points, which are signposted. Within the confines of this beach there are, in turn,
two more: El Asperillo Beach, at the place where Maneli Hillock shelves gently down into the water; and Mata del Difunto Beach, which is a
continuation of that beach towards Mazagón.
This beach, apart from being a suitable place for enjoying the surroundings of Doñana Natural Park, with its impressive cliffs formed by sand
dunes, is a real joy to get to. Maneli Hillock, for example, links the N-494 Mazagón-Matalascañas road with Castilla Beach across a 1.5-kilometre
board walk through pine woods and dunes, going to the top of El Asperillo Dune or Cliff (declared a Natural Monument), the view from which is
breathtaking.
Its occupancy rate is usually low, although more people go there on weekends. It's frequented by naturists, because nudists and clothed people
manage to "rub shoulders" just fine.
