From Ayamonte, on the border with Portugal, to Islantilla, Huelva coastline has a diversity of beaches. There are beaches for all interests and tastes, you can choose between country and urban beaches, next to marinas or complete isolation.

Most of this area is influenced by Isla Cristina Wetlands Natural Park, so there is a great diversity of flora and fauna, lots of pathways and the "Vía Verde litoral" (an old railroad converted into a walkway).

La Antilla and El Portil border an area of wider beaches influenced by two nature reserves: Reserva Natural Laguna de El Portil and Paraje Natural Marismas del Río Piedras y Flecha de El Rompido.

At the mouth of the Río Piedras (Stony River) you can find a sand spit called Nueva Umbría beach: (12 kilometres of unspoilt beach).

La Antilla, El rompido and El Portil beaches have, on the other hand, all the amenities you would expect for a modern holiday beach resort.

Punta Umbría has beaches for all tastes: La Bota and Los Enebrales are really extensive beaches, part of an area of outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, the Playa Urbana and Playa de la Ría have all the animation and services available in one of the most important summer destinations in Andalusia, South West of Spain.

Finally, Mazagón beach is the first of the eastern beaches of Huelva, which are all strongly influenced by Doñana National Park.

Beaches Parador & Rompeculos

Driving South from Mazagón we arrive to several country beaches with good services and amenities, surrounded by pine woods and dunes.

Playa del Parador, famous for its cliff top, is named after the Parador Nacional.

Rompeculos (bottom-breaker) beach got its name from a geographical feature in the area. It is well known for its peace and quiet. Nudists and non-nudists happily coexist together on this beach.

Beaches Castilla & Torre del Loro

Named after the watchtower whose ruins are still there, Torre del Loro Beach is an ideal place for those who prefer private beaches.

Besides Torre del Loro, Castilla Beach has 20 kilometres of almost virgin beach where, part of Doñana National Park. It has some areas with great landscapes and outstanding natural beauty.

Matalascanas Beach

Matalascañas beach is one of the traditional places in Huelva for family holidays.

This Huelva beach destination has the highest number of hotel rooms and is next to the Doñana National park. The waters are generally quite still and safe.
