Columbine Places

In 1485 Columbus arrived to the La Rabida Monastery from Portugal, looking for hospitality. Not only did he find that, but brother Juan Pérez and brother Antonio de Marchena also helped Columbus to talk with the Catholic Kings and to obtain the financing for his travels. The Columbine Places -declared of Historical-Artistic interest in 1967- are those places that played a crucial role in Christopher Columbus' Discovering of America. Moguer and Palos de la Frontera, along with La Rábida monastery and Santa Clara Monastery -whose abbess helped Columbus and when he spent a whole night praying after his return, are a must-see for everyone interested in one of the most important moments in history.
